Following news of the General Election being called for 4th July, the team behind East Wight Primary team shares their response.

“In the last six months the East Wight Primary has developed a huge following of highly motivated Islanders who are tired of politics as usual.
“The shock election announcement is another example of how politicians try to game our democratic system to their own advantage.”

“We are now accelerating our plans to deliver a robust local tactical voting poll in the next month enabling people to clearly back the candidate who is best placed to represent the Island in a post Conservative government.
“We are excited to be part of the upcoming election and we look forward to playing a role in improving the Island’s representation.”
