Acoustics at the Altar have another gig coming up next week at St John’s Church in Ryde.

This dramatic musical performance written by Helen MacDonald offers and interpretation of the life and music of Billie Holiday, capturing all the emotion of a musical icon through the fusion of song and the spoken word.
Combining theatre and film through cutting edge multimedia techniques and supported by Keith Waithe and the Macusi players the piece is woven together with spoken word relating to the tumultuous life and career that took Holiday from poverty to the New York jazz scene.
