Ex-Waxworks Vocalist Seeking New Band Members

Former vocalist/bass player of Thee Waxworks, Scott Wilson, has been in touch to let us know about a new band he’s hoping to get together.

Ex-Waxworks Vocalist Seeking New Band MembersOver the past few months, he’s got quite a bit of stuff written for the band, and with the final details being worked out with a possible band member who’s currently living in Canada (boy that’s some commute for rehearsals), Scott is on the lookout for a drummer and possibly another guitar player.

The key influences for his music include; The Velvet Underground; Nick Cave; Gene Vincent; Johnny Cash; Wild Billy Childish; rockabilly and gospel.

He’s thrown some possible names for the band into the mix, such as Sippy Cup, The Broken Trains, The Crooked Mile and The Lonesome Few (let him know what you think below).

Scott goes on to tell us that the new band will be employing cutandpaste technology giving the songs a loose, Beck-like feel.

If you think you might make a good match for Scott’s new band, get in touch with him by emailing [email protected].

Oh, and he’s also on the lookout for rehearsal space.

If you want an idea of Thee Waxworks’ sound, check out their MySpace. We were big fans, so pleased to hear that there might be something similar back on the Island by the end of the year.
