We all know how successful the campaign to rid Ventnor of plastic carrier bags has been. How often do you see people using them these days?
Even if you’re already using your own reusable bags, why not help continue this campaign by taking part in weekly workshops to help make more Morsbags?
You don’t have to possess intricate dressmaking skills, you simply need to be able to machine in a straight line and Sheila (the Morsbag queen) will be on hand to help you out.
As Angie (another Morsbag heroine) points out on her blog, “Morsbags fold up really small and easily fit into a pocket or a handbag, pick a fabric to suit your personality, plain, stripes or floral etc. These bags are quick to make and they make ideal gifts. Morsbags are always given away for free and are never sold.”
We understand that there is also a chance to learn how to make carrier bags from old newspaper and Sheila can help you try that out too.
There’ll be tea and coffee available so why not pop along or call Sheila on 856268 to express your interest.
The workshops will take place every Friday between 2pm – 4pm at the Ventnor Community Cafe, 3 Albert St, Ventnor.
You don’t have to live in Ventnor to take part and if you do go along -don’t forget to say where you heard about it.
