Fake Bestival Tickets In Circulation On Isle of Wight: Beware

Bestival organisers have today announced that they are aware that a large number of fake Bestival tickets are circulating on the Island.

In light of the IOW Rock Festival’s story last week re up to one in five tickets presented at their gates being counterfeit, Bestival organiser Rob da Bank has pleaded with IOW residents to please be sensible and not to throw their money away.

A stringent system is in place that will easily detect forgeries at the Bestival gate and nobody should be under any impression that a cheap fake ticket offers them any chance of gaining entry to the sold-out event which takes place at Robin Hill Country Park this coming September. A number of security measures are built into every legitimate ticket and there is no way that even the most expert criminal could hope to reproduce all of these safeguards.

Bestival organisers are already in possession of a small number of these fake tickets and have been working very closely with local authorities regarding this matter.

Bestival 2007 obviously sold out in record time this year and weekend tickets have been selling on the secondary market (e-Bay etc) in recent weeks for an incredible £300 per ticket, so if you are offered a ticket for £40 in a local pub then unfortunately this is one instance where it really is too good to be true!
