The Isle of Wight Branch of Parkinson’s UK is inviting people to join them for a Family Fun Day on Saturday 23rd July 2011 to raise funds so they can continue to provide support and friendship for people affected by Parkinson’s.
The day includes performances from renowned magician David Randini, the amazing and funky Unidos Samba and the impressive Wight Diamonds Marching Band.
Variety of activities and entertainment
There’s something for everyone with tons of fun fair stalls from books to crafts to tombola, and lots of children’s activities like Facepainting, a bouncy castle, egg and spoon and sack races, food and drink, and some great competition prizes to be won! The event will culminate in a grand finale Tug-of-War competition.
With entrance free for children aged 14 and under and only £1 for adults, Smallbrook Stadium will be an ideal location to spend the day.
More about Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s is a degenerative neurological condition and there is currently no cure. For some people having Parkinson’s can be a frustrating and isolating experience.
The Isle of Wight Branch of Parkinson’s UK offers information, friendship and support to local people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers to make sure that no one has to face Parkinson’s alone. Parkinson’s UK – the support and research charity – is passionate about finding a cure and improving life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.
“Here for everyone living with Parkinson’s”
Ron Tweedie chairs the Isle of Wight Branch of Parkinson’s UK and said: “We felt that the start of the Summer holidays was a great opportunity to put on something special. We know that families are always looking for activities to entertain the kids and we have a large range of stalls, and lots of performers, so you’ll need the whole day to have a go on everything!
“Parkinson’s UK Isle of Wight Branch is here for everyone living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers. We hope everyone will come and show their support for us, so that we can continue to provide help and friendship and make sure nobody need face Parkinson’s alone.”
