Fantasy Festival Launch Party

A couple of weeks ago, two invites for the Fantasy Festival launch party fell onto our virtual doorstep. Unfortunately, we had previous plans that couldn’t be changed, and sadly, missed out on what sounded like a great launch.

Fantasy Festival Launch PartyThere’ll be more parties coming up, and we’ll try to give you some notice on these. Or you could of course set up your own Fantasy Festival (it’s great fun) and you’ll hear about them from the horses mouth, so to speak.

Anyway, thanks to top bloke, Dr Jones, for sending through this short review …

If this was a launch party, everybody there was a detonator.

Held at the (very mellow) back room at the Castle Inn, Newport, the FF left the ground in style.

The evening kicked off with the IOW’s very own ‘Mighty Boosh’ upstagers ‘Disco Volante & The Rev. Kitsch’ of the ‘Pink Pussycat sound (no real) System’. 60’s & 70’s funk and soul… Really nice!

Fantasy Festival Launch PartyThe ever beautiful DJ Chardonnay took up the funk mantle and couldn’t stop dancing behind the decks (as a pretty lame but enthusiastic shuffler, I found that helped a lot) great set!

Just when you think it’s safe, DJ Long………Gaps makes a return!!! Loud, proud, almost psychedelic. The man, the legend, Super nice.

Dj Ninja. He ROCKED, with some old skool hip hop fused with jazz funk’s deformed cousin… Quote.

Listen, if you love your music, look out for the next FF party, if you don’t turn up, the Rev. Kitsch will be handing out Chinese burns, don’t say the Doc didn’t warn you!
