Josie Shaw, Johnathon Cox and Claire Thomas, who are all on the Way Forward Programme, were invited aboard Wightlink’s ‘St Clare’ to help them come up with ideas for the work which can now be seen displayed on board the ferry.
The nautical themed pictures will also be up for sale, helping to raise funds for both the Island based charity and the artists themselves.
Operation Director Elwyn Dop from Wightlink says:
“We were delighted to welcome the young artists to St Clare to meet our crew and gaze out across the Solent. We hope our customers travelling on board will enjoy seeing what they made of the experience.”
Tutor Claire Holley added,
“Everyone had great fun on the trip.
“Especially getting the chance to visit the captain on the bridge. They came back brimming with ideas, and have been using acrylics, fine liners and watercolours to create some stunning pieces of art.”
