We understand that there are a few tickets left for tonight’s (Sunday) Verdi Requiem at Medina Theatre.
The concert is in aid of the Orchid Cancer Trust and we’re told that if they sell the few remaining tickets, a £10,000 donation will be made to the cancer charity.
Helen Foster, who is playing in the orchestra tells us that many professionals are involved, with all the soloists, conductor, many orchestral members and members of the choir, all giving their time for free.
She goes on to say, “It would be wonderful to fill the theatre and make all this worthwhile. It will be a wonderful experience – fantastic music performed to an extremely high standard. Philip Thomas, the conductor, works internationally, including conducting for the English National Opera.”
