As part of National Civic Day, a public meeting has been organised to discuss the ‘Financial Future of the Isle of Wight’.
Being held at the Riverside Centre in Newport (Saturday, 18th June), guest speakers will be talking about the issues affecting the Island’s future and questions can be put to the panel from the audience.
Topics being covered
The meeting is being hosted by the Isle of Wight Society and speakers include a representative from the London office of the National Association of Local Councils, Councillors Steve Stubbings and Julia Baker-Smith, former councillor Harry Rees, Steve Porter (Chamber of Commerce) and Alan Marriott (on the Fight for the Wight campaign).
Topics to be covered include:
- People’s perceptions of the issue
- The Island in the National picture
- Business, social demands and housing needs
- Q and As with the speakers and Councillors
All welcome
The meeting takes place on Saturday 18th June at Riverside Centre, Newport Quay. It’s open to everyone and all will be able to submit questions for the panel of speakers.
Arrive for a 12.30pm start. The meeting will run until 4.45pm.
