Joanna Cooke from the Lord Louis Library in Newport has been in touch with an appeal for OnTheWight readers.
This coming Saturday (2nd August) the library has a WWI Commemoration day taking place and in the run up to the event they’re asking Islanders to make a (tissue paper) poppy.
They’re hoping to have enough poppies to make a poppy field to display on Saturday, so if you’re in Newport, why not pop into the library and make a poppy or two.
Joanna says they only take a minute or so to make, but they look really good.
