In addition to school staff, there are many other public service staff taking strike action today over pay, pensions and workloads.

Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service
Members of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) will take part in industrial action between 10am and 7pm on Thursday 10 July.
Contingency arrangements will be in place during this time.
Floating bridge
The Cowes floating bridge will be out of service on Thursday 10 July. A passenger launch will be in operation.
Vehicles will be diverted via Newport.
Museums
The Museum of Island History, Newport will be closed on Thursday 10 July.
All other council-run museums to open as normal.
Libraries
The two council libraries due to open on Thursday 10 July (Lord Louis, Newport and Ryde Library) will be closed.
In addition, there will be no mobile library service.
