Steve Double from Operation Geranium shares this review from the first Gasoline Rock Club gig, held last week at Bar 74 in Ryde. In his own words. Ed
The Gasoline Rock Club is new, launching from at Bar 74, Union Street, Ryde on Friday 28th July.
It’s different because it’s a production that allows only original rock music, a twisted blend of punk, metal, rock, goth and alternative energies.
It bursts with swagger, unashamedly, onto the local gig music scene. Rolling down the tracks, like a south-bound freight train.
Keeping it real
We keep it real, with original emerging talent (no cover bands). The fully enfranchised crowd grew and the evening rolled out the gates to reach its final, gasping, crashing, explosive ending. We do not play candy crush, we play rock n’ roll.
The sound of rock, punk, indie, and alternative music has found a renaissance home, the sound of the suburbs. Bass, drums and scorching angst guitar riffs, fill the night air again.
The opening night delivered stage performances from Monty Carlo, Hutch, and Voodoo Raven, with inter sessions from Vectis Radio’s own DJ rock guru, Nick Painless.
We are like The Hotel California you can check out, you can never leave.
If you’re bored with TV and painting-by-numbers cover bands in sports bars, restaurants or pubs, come on down. It is even better than Dale Winton in Supermarket Sweep.
Next event
The Gasoline Rock Club returns to Bar 74 on Saturday 12th August from 7.30pm.
Every time your eye balls bleed, your ear drums burst, a little older person, gets a Geranium dropped off on their doorstep.
