It was great to see Geoff Blake’s fishery open in the Haven this weekend and finally in it’s rightful place.
Geoff was pretty pleased too, with sales on the first day double what he’d normally expect.
We realise that his move to the Haven (or rather delay in moving) has been a pretty contentious issue, but really do feel that this is the best place for a fish shop, in a haven rather than on the beach.
It should also go some way to reducing the traffic along the seafront, as his customers will now be using the esplanade car park instead.
On a side point … we understand that the campaign to pedestrianise the esplandade, although quiet, has not gone away and will pass on any news when we get it.
