Island Roads have repeatedly been asked to improve drainage in Niton since last winter, when a number of homes were flooded.
In spite of some work at the lower, northern end of the High Street, residents say flash flooding outside the community library is as bad as ever.
Resident Janice Young said,
“The storm drain outside the library might as well not be there. The system simply can’t cope – and this was just a heavy shower. We’ve told them and told them and told them.
“The water goes down quite quickly, but once it’s in yourb house, it’s too late. Things aren’t looking good for the winter.”
