Forget the X Factor (not too hard) what organisers of this year’s Big Day Out want to know, is whether you have the ‘WW’ Factor (or perhaps that should be WoW Factor).
The annual event which takes place on Sunday 11 October at West Wight Sports Centre in Freshwater, features a new talent contest for young people.
If you’re aged nineteen or under and have a talent of any kind, all you have to do is perform in front of a panel of judges and you could be going home with a £100 prize!
The competition will be organised between under 12s and 13-19 year olds.
Register to take part
If you want to take part, you’ll need to register their details with Leanne Godley before Friday 9 October by emailing her on leanne.godley(at)iow.gov.uk or calling on 525927.
As always the event is free, but you will need to get tickets in advance which you can from all public libraries, children’s centres and youth centres.
Free bus travel
Once again free bus travel has been arranged via Wightbus to and from the event from around the Island, but this must be booked in advance (check libraries for timetables).
If you prefer to drive, there will be a free park and ride available at the Apple Tree Cafe, Afton Farm, Newport Road, Freshwater.
Disabled parking is available on site.
