The Cowes Floating Bridge will be taken out of service on Tuesday morning.
A replacement service will be launched for foot passengers at 10am to allow for a minor hydraulic hose repair.
The temporary service will continue until the repair is carried out, which is expected to take around two hours.
Isle of Wight council apologise for any inconvenience caused.
