Four Five babies leapt into 2012 on the 29th February at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport Isle of Wight.
First to arrive at 07:30hrs in the morning on 29th February was Savannah Taylor Corney, a daughter for Kerry and Jason Corney of Newport. Savannah was born at St Mary’s and weighed in at 7lb 14ozs (3.57kgs)
Next to arrive at 10:27hrs, and was Drew, a son for Tiffany and Mark Catania of Newport. Drew weighed in at 8lb 4ozs (3.74kgs)
Then, at 14.23hrs Aimee Rose, a daughter for Rachel and Thomas Waddell was born. Aimee Rose weighed 7lb 12ozs (3.520kgs)
The fourth baby to be born at 16.32hrs was a daughter for Elizabeth and James Lake, weighing 6lbs 9ozs (3.14kgs)
Update: IW NHS now inform us that there was also a home birth. Alexander was born born 00.38, weighing 6lb 11oz (3.03kg) to Lisa and Chris Lyon. They live in Freshwater.
Former midwife and Chief Operating Officer for NHS Isle of Wight, Karen Baker said: “Congratulations to all four sets of parents on their new arrivals.”
