Thanks to Emma from Child Bereavement UK for sharing news of this challenge. Ed
Nikki Cox of Luton ran her first marathon in 2008 and since then has completed two further marathons for charity. But this year, she has stepped it up a notch and has decided to complete the Berlin, Chester, Isle of Wight and Amsterdam Marathons all in four consecutive weekends to raise money for Child Bereavement UK.
Nikki says
“I am running Berlin, Chester, Isle of Wight and Amsterdam marathons in memory of my brother Mark, who died of Neuroblastoma at the age of three, and my sister, who, being anencephalic, was still born.
“This is both a personal challenge for me, and an opportunity to raise money for a charity that would have changed the lives of both my parents and me had it been around at the time. I feel it’s important that other families do not face bereavement without the support of an organisation like Child Bereavement UK.”
After successfully completing Berlin in five hours, seven minutes, eight seconds and Chester in four hours, 58 minutes, 51 seconds she will be taking on the third of her challenges, the Isle of Wight Marathon this weekend.
