Thanks to Lisa from Frack-free Isle of Wight for sharing details of this pop-in session being held on Saturday at Unitarian Meeting House, Adjacent to No.9 High Street, Newport between 10am-3pm. Ed
There is a public consultation on the fracking licence blocks running until 29th September.
It is vital that everyone on the Island understands what is happening before it is too late.
If licences are awarded and the fracking industry goes ahead, it could have a damaging impact on property values, tourism and agriculture as well as posing a very real risk of harm to the environment and human health.
Raising awareness in the community
Frack Free Isle of Wight are simply members of the community working hard to raise general awareness and to obtain information on the best way to respond to this consultation and later planning applications should the licences be awarded.
Drop-in to find out more
Please come along on Saturday (5th September) between 10am-3pm and tell your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues.
There is no obligation to get involved, our drop in will be very informal so please just pop in for a cuppa and information will be there if you want to look at it.
If you would like to help us with campaigning, or have your own ideas, please let us know.
We look forward to meeting you all.
Find out more about the campaign by visiting the Frack Free Isle of Wight Facebook Page.
