Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council has received funding from Southern Water to install Slow Drain Water Butts for businesses and organisations in the local community.
These are water butts – but not as you know them!
Slow drainers
These water butts differ from the traditional ‘water butt’ because they allow rainwater to leak slowly into the drainage system. They cut the excess amount of surface water running into drains and sewers to help prevent flooding issues
Free for businesses and organisations
The Slow drain water butts are supplied and installed completely FREE for businesses and organisations in the Newport and Carisbrooke area.
