If you’ve wandered past Totland Pier over the last year or so, you might have wondered what was being built on the wet end of it.
Once an artist’s studio (listen to our 2008 podcast with Derek Barran), the Pier has been through different sets of hands since then, but the current owners have been pushing forward with plans approved in 2019 for a two-storey restaurant.
Not to be confused with the Cafe on the dry end of the Pier (which closed last year and recently had an application to convert it into holiday lets rejected).
Transformation over 12 months
Robbie Lane from Isle of Wight Guru has put together a one-minute video showing how Totland Pier has been rebuilt and transformed over the last 12 months.
The video includes footage from three different visits, including one last week.
