Mississippi-born, Fruteland Jackson is a magical Acoustic Blues musician performing at Quay Arts on Wednesday 27 May.
This will be a night to remember with songs ranging from contemporary to traditional by this award-winning blues guitarist/vocalist and venerated Blues music oral historian.
Fruteland one of the foremost exponents of Acoustic Blues, performs a range of music from early field-holler songs and work songs to Delta and Piedmont Blues, plus his own compositions.
This keen oral historian, raised in Chicago is dedicated to gathering, preserving and performing Acoustic Blues, in all their various forms. He has performed in Spain, France Italy and Britain to rave reviews. As an oral historian of Blues music he has taken his extensive knowledge to schools and universities all over America receiving several awards and wide-acclaim for his research.
Fruteland is a superb performer with an easy manner that has charmed audiences all over the world.
This talented artist will be playing from an extensive repertoire; he is accompanied by Bob Hall, acknowledged as Britain’s finest blues and boogie pianist with crystal-clear harmonies and with rock-steady bass provided by Hilary Blythe.
