Billed as a ‘Fun day for all’ and organised by Heather Blake, Girlguiding IW Brownie Adviser, this event took place at Corf Camp.
Nearly 300 Brownies attended from across the Isle of Wight together with their leaders and helpers.
There was a tremendous choice of activities for the girls to choose from ranging from the quiet activity of drawing Friendship Hands to the more noisy water races and bouncy castle.
Toasted marshmallows and eggy bread
For those seeking a full adventure there was rope-bridge walking and the Brownies were also introduced to what there is to look forward to as a Guide with sessions based around a Guide camp – living in a tent, packing a bedding roll and tasting outdoor cooked food – toasted marshmallows and eggy bread.
After the rounds of activities all the Brownies joined together for a picnic tea and a camp fire sing song led by Girlguiding IW Music adviser, Marion O’Nions.
Whilst everyone was gathered together Janet Lovell, Island Commissioner presented leadership awards to two leaders.
