The Fair, which is free to enter, will be held in the John Cheverton Centre on the Hospice site in Halberry Lane and will feature a host of entertainment for all the family including renowned children’s performers Dazzle and Fizz who will be putting on a special Christmas Show plus performances from local group Sounds Lively.

The centre will also have a special visit from Father Christmas and a chance for children to write their letters to Santa and to visit him in his Christmas Grotto.

Stallholders will also be on hand for those last minute Christmas gifts; from handmade silver jewellery, candles, photo canvases, iron candle holders, pottery, paintings and much more. Or, for those preferring to make their own gift, they can try their hand at painting their own ceramic gift.

Visitors to the fair can also sit back and relax in the bright, cheery surroundings of the cafe at the centre and sample the delights of their special homemade cakes and other delicious food and drink. As a Christmas special, the Café will be serving two sittings of traditional Christmas lunch, which can be booked and paid for on arrival at the Fair, at the John Cheverton Centre reception. This will be on a first come, first served basis.

During the Fair, a special ceremony will also be held to open a new playground at the centre in memory of Sophie Rolf. The Butterfly Garden, as it will be officially named, has been funded by the Sophie Rolf Trust, Kissy Puppy as part of a programme at the Hospice to increase the services available to children and young people. The ceremony will take place at 11am.

Clinical Centre Manager, Becky McGregor said,

“Whether you have Christmas presents still to buy or simply want a festive family day out, the hospice Christmas Fair promises to be a special occasion for everyone to enjoy.”

Free parking is available at the centre including disabled spaces. The Centre is also fully accessible for disabled visitors and baby changing facilities are also available.
