From the Bake Off tent to the Food Theatre marquee – the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival welcomes the winner and current titleholder of the Great British Bake Off.
Nadiya Hussain won the most recent series of Bake Off, seen by 15 million people on TV’s most watched show. This August Nadiya will be heading for the Isle Of Wight, to cook for a very different audience. She’s the first name to be announced for this year’s Garlic Festival, confirming the event’s premier position as the Island’s biggest foodie event.

Nadiya will be appearing on Saturday August 20th in the Garlic Festival food theatre as part of a weekend line-up full of chefs and cooking demonstrations, celebrating the best in Isle of Wight produce. Nadiya will also be signing copies of her brand new book Nadiya’s Kitchen.
Nadiya says,
“I can’t wait! It’s my first time on the Isle of Wight and I’ve heard so much about the legendary Garlic Festival. I’m really looking forward to demonstrating some of my favourite recipes, using local ingredients, including garlic of course!”
Further announcements for the Island’s biggest summer show will be made soon and organisers say this year will be the best line-up yet.
Organiser, David Holmes said,
“It’s definitely a winning line up all round.
“As the Island’s largest summer show we’re thrilled to welcome the star of Britain’s biggest TV show. Nadiya really has been taken to the nation’s hearts and we’re so excited to be bringing her to the Garlic Festival.
“We’re all about family entertainment and of course, great food! Our expanded food theatre was a huge hit last year and it goes from strength to strength in 2016. On your marks – get set – bake!”
