Exciting news reaches us that The Park Centre Project charity, which is based in Ryde are to launch a new events programme called ‘Acoustics at the Altar’.
Acoustics at the Altar will aim to bring great quality music to alternative venues in Ryde, and in the process raise cash and awareness of the charity and hopefully spread some love at the same time.
For their first gig on the 19th October, in association with the Arts Unit’s Hog the Limelight Scheme, they’ve managed to book the fantastic Gordon Giltrap, a musician well versed in acoustics. In fact he has been described as one of the UK’s most celebrated guitarists and Brian May calls him a ‘Legend’.
Check him out for yourself in the video below.
All the profits from this gig will be pumped straight back into the project.
The venue for the first gig is St Johns Church in Ryde. Churches can provide the most amazing venues for acoustic music, so this should be an excellent night.
Tickets are £8.50 available from Strings Guitar Centre on Monkton Street in Ryde or from the organisers on (01983) 611913. You can also email cora(at)theparkcentre(dot)org(dot)uk for tickets and more info.
