Around this time last year VB readers might remember reading about a guy who took part in a 48 hour Tweetathon.
In a week’s time, Gray Collins (aka diaryofaledger), will no doubt be drinking lots of coffee as he attempts another mammoth Tweetathon.
This time round, he’ll be raising cash for the National Autistic Society (NAS) and tweeting for 60 hours rather than 48.
We’re told that he’ll be tweeting on the hour from midday on Monday 11th October and forgoing two night’s sleep in order to raise his target of £2,000 for the NAS Isle of Wight branch.
Hope to help
Gray, says, “My niece and nephew both have autism, which is why I’m raising money for the NAS, as I get to see firsthand how much hard work it can be for families affected by the condition. The Isle of Wight branch does a fantastic job of supporting local families and I hope the money I raise will allow them to provide an even greater service”.
As a regular Tweeter, his output won’t necessarily be increased during the Tweetathon, it’s the fact that he’ll keep tweeting every hour for 60 hours which he hopes will raise the cash.
Louise Foley, IOW NAS Branch Officer, says, “We are so thankful to Gray for giving up over two days of his time to raise money for our IOW branch. The money he raises will go a long way towards helping local families affected by autism. The right support at the right time can make an enormous difference to peoples’ lives”.
