If you haven’t heard of Pressure, then you may need to turn your hearing aid up. Founded by Bestival DJ competition winner Shufflah, Pressure is a monthly night dedicated to deep, bass-heavy sound system music.
On the first Friday of every month, bass music enthusiasts across the Island have travelled to Phat’s nightclub, conveniently situated in Newport bus station, to rave the night away from 9pm-2am.
For the past six months Pressure has showcased some of the Island’s finest DJs alongside mainland talent, most notably in September when drum and bass veteran Nicky Blackmarket visited the Isle of Wight for a night he enjoyed so much, he asked to come back.
Six hour Halloween spooktacular
On Friday 30th October, the crew behind Pressure are ending the year early with a six hour Halloween spooktacular, and it’s set to be a heavy night of dance music spanning a multitude of genres.
On the lineup is a two hour set from original junglist and drum and bass legend DJ Aphrodite, as well as Pressure regulars Krooks, Wishwud, Shufflah & Eddie C, and Bestival DJ competition runner-up Julius Jowiitt.
Doors open at 9pm, bring your dancing shoes.
