Thanks to Keith Gentleman, Trustee of Waterside Community Trust for an update on the new facilities opening at the pool at the end of this week. Ed
This Friday Waterside Pool will open its new state of the art sauna. Currently under construction, it will be free to use until the end of March as a huge ‘thank you’ to the pool membership.
From 1st April members who wish to sauna will be charged a heavily discounted fee of just £1 per person.
Overlooking Ryde Canoe Lake
Supplied by ‘Helo’. a leading manufacturer of commercial sauna’s and fitted with pleasant automatic essence dosing, this excellent facility will have a superb view overlooking Ryde Canoe Lake.
When fully operational a rather fun Bucket Shower will, for the brave, produce an instant cool down in place of that rather Scandinavian run through the snow that can only rarely be provided on our Island!
‘Members Only’ Lido
As the weather improves members will get even more value from their membership card with the opening of the new outdoor ‘Members Only’ Lido – an attractive, decked sun trap with seating, fresh air fitness cardiovascular gym equipment, outdoor table tennis and a super place to sit, relax, chat and watch the more active.
40th Anniversary on 23rd August
Waterside Pool on Ryde’s Esplanade, now well into its second year of operation as a ‘Not for Profit’ company and no longer council run, will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the opening of the original outdoor Swimming Pool on August 23rd.
With its friendly, welcoming staff and vibrant atmosphere it is now the place to learn to swim, keep fit with water aerobics, swim, sauna and relax. Why not become a member and take advantage of the discounted prices. Under 8’s swim free with a paying adult.
Thank you
Trustees would like to thank the volunteers, local businesses, Ryde Town Council and of course that most important group of all, its members, for their continued support.
