Update 9.53:
Police can confirm a woman reported missing from her home in Alverstone, Isle of Wight on Thursday, October 10 was found alive this morning (Friday, October 11).
Helge Stringer, aged 76, was located in the Alverstone area at 9.31am, after being spotted by a member of the public. She is being taken to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance for medical treatment.
Officers are increasingly concerned for the welfare of Helge Stringer, aged 76, who was last seen at home in the Burnt House Lane area of Alverstone near Sandown at around 6.30pm yesterday (Thursday, October 10).
She is described as white, wearing a grey coat over a red top and a fawn coloured skirt. Mrs Stringer has grey hair, worn in a bob-style.
Call 999 if you spot her
Police are appealing for members of the public to report any sightings or information about her immediately by phoning 999 and asking for the police control room.
Mrs Stringer is known to go walking in the countryside.
