The severe rain fall over night and this morning (Wednesday) has caused the High Street in Ventnor to flood.
Blocked drains and the recent heavy downpour resulted in water rising up above the kerb just outside Hursts.
A river of water flowed down Tulse Hill bringing with it gravel from someone’s garden.
Splashback from passing cars
Inconsiderate drivers not slowing down as they drove through the enormous puddle left their mark on pedestrians waiting for the bus or trying to get along the street.
The town centre wasn’t the only place to suffer though. On The Wight reader, Michelle Angell, told us that York Road in Upper Ventnor was hit too. As you can see from her pic below, the heavy rain carried her bin bags away pretty swiftly.
