The strong winds have been causing disruption across the Isle of Wight again. As we tweeted earlier, the Hovertravel service has been suspended due to high winds.
However, much earlier this morning a team of contractors were working hard to ensure that rush hour and school traffic were saved from potential disruption.
We received an email from the council press office just before 5am, informing us that a fallen tree between Ventnor and Shanklin was blocking the road, resulting in traffic being diverted through Wroxall.
Contractors had been called out and managed to remove the tree from the highway and clear up by 6.15am. Well done to all involved.
