Holiday Park seeks to extend hours and live music performances

An Isle of Wight holiday park is looking to sell alcohol later, play live music longer and stay open until the early hours.

Parkdean Resorts has applied to the Isle of Wight Council to vary its premises licence for Landguard Holiday Park in Shanklin.

Alcohol bought on site
If approved, it could mean alcohol bought at the site could be consumed off the premises, seven days a week from 10am to midnight.

At the moment, alcohol can only be sold if consumed on-site.

In its application, the national holiday park operator — which has four sites on the Island — is also looking to amend how early alcohol can be sold.

Change in hours
It also wants to bring forward the time plays, dance performances and live music indoors can start, from 10am to midnight, seven days a week.

It is also asking that the holiday park can stay open half an hour later every day — opening to the public from 10am to 12.30am the following day.

Parkdean is also proposing the late night refreshment offer be extended, to 11pm to midnight, Monday to Sunday.

No reason for changes
No reasoning on the application form is given for the proposed changes.

It is hoped the change can be made as soon as possible.

Anyone wishing to make a representation can do so until 7th April.

They can be made by email to [email protected] or by post to the Licensing Authority, Isle of Wight Council, Licensing Section, Jubilee Stores, The Quay, Newport, PO30 2EH.
