HRH the Princess Royal has accepted the role of Patron for the Island Sailing Club.
The initial term of this prestigious appointment is set for three years.
A warm welcome for a keen sailor
Commodore Tim Devlin expressed the Club’s excitement about the new Royal connection. He said,
“We look forward to welcoming her to one of our events next year.”
The Princess and her husband, both avid sailors, are already well-known figures in Cowes.
Gratitude for a key contribution
The Commodore acknowledged the role of the Club’s Admiral, Sir Martin White, in securing this Royal appointment. Commodore Devlin said,
“The Club is very grateful to our Admiral Sir Martin White for his help and advice in bringing about this very favourable appointment.”
