Our thoughts are with the family of an eight year old boy, who on Saturday afternoon got into difficulty in the sea at Appley Beach, Ryde.
The team from Ryde Inshore Rescue were able to rescue the boy, who was then treated by paramedics on the beach and airlifted to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.
Still in a critical, but stable condition, he was later transferred to Southampton Hospital, where he remains in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
