Well done to the Island refuse collectors who, after haven been snowed off yesterday, have been working twice as hard today to help clear the backlog.
Our rubbish normally gets picked up on a Tuesday, so last night we stuck our black bag of rubbish back in the bin, safely away from those pesky badgers and foxes (after being caught out before – never again will be leave our rubbish out overnight). Imagine our surprise this morning when we went to the bin to take out the rubbish and found that the refuse collectors had already got there.
What a great service! We won’t expect them to do it every week, but really impressed with the extra effort they’re making to collect everyone’s rubbish.
Considering that they are still working through the backlog, it’s possible that they may not finish the Wednesday pickup today, so will carry on tomorrow. Some slight delays in pickups may continue into Thursday, but it is anticipated that they’ll be back to normal by Friday.
Of course this is all dependent upon the weather and with the 360degree turnaround predicted, who snows!
