Here at OnTheWight we love hearing about positive community stories.
Earlier today, news that a flower bed in Coronation Gardens in Ryde had been vandalised was issued by the Isle of Wight council. They said that over 300 plants had been lost due to the actions of the vandals.
A spokesperson said,
“Unfortunately due to the cost they will not be replaced and the bed will now be tidied up and left empty for the immediate future.”
However, it never takes long on the Isle of Wight for a disaster to be followed by a show of great community spirit.
The council have just announced that Haylands Farm have been in touch and offered to plant new flowers in the bed this week free of charge.
Well done to all at Haylands Farm, you’re a credit to the community.
