We get to hear about some amazing fundraising challenges here at OnTheWight, but this one really stands out.
Fifteen year old Natasha Lambert has Athetoid Cerebral Palsy, which means that motor development and coordination are a real challenge for her.
Despite this, the plucky young lady is planning to sail around the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Saturday) to raise money for RNLI, Isle of Wight Scope and Ellen MacArthur Trust.
Controlling everything by mouth
She’s sailing the Miss Isle, which has been adapted especially for Natasha who will be controlling everything by mouth using a single straw, a ‘Sip & Puff’ system.
Natasha has only recently learnt to sail, so to take on the challenge of sailing around the Island is quite a feat, but she wants to show people that anyone can achieve their dreams.
What an inspiration!
If you would like to support Natasha, she has set up a donation page.
Very best of luck tomorrow Natasha, we’ll be thinking of you.
Thanks to Eleanor Driscoll from RNLI in Poole for the heads-up.
