Island clubbers hit the dance floor, raising funds for Mountbatten IW

Party goers raised more than £600 for the hospice as they took to the dancefloor at the Island’s original afternoon clubbing event.

Revellers at Sunday Skool at Strings Bar and Venue in Newport on Sunday 13th October raised £674.75 in support of the Go Yellow campaign for Mountbatten IW.

The money raised came from ticket sale profits, cash collection at the event, as well as donations from the DJs and the management at Strings.

Ruth:
Sunday Skool organiser, Kirsty Ruth, said,

“Everyone who came to Sunday Skool made the event so much fun, and to raise so much money for Mountbatten IW is the icing on the cake.

“Thank you to everyone who bought tickets, donated in the venue and put money in the Mountbatten buckets when we were outside in Newport bus station. The support was amazing.

“We also couldn’t have done it without our incredible Xtreme Vertigo DJs Crabbie and Stu, and the management of Strings Bar and Venue, who donated both their time and money to a service that is so important on the Island.”

Christmas event
Sunday Skool held its first afternoon clubbing event at Fever on Easter Sunday, but has now moved to Strings Bar and Venue. The next event is a Christmas party on 15th December 2024.
