Matt Harris (pictured below) and Arthur Venables (pictured above) of team …a3crg travelled to Rake, (just east of Petersfield) to race in a 10 mile time trial, with the course being previously known as the ‘Hard riders 10’, due to its challenging terrain of rough surfaces, intimidating hills and almost guaranteed of having strong winds at this time of year
Matt Harris broke his course best, taking a whole minute off his time which led him to superb victory with a 24:14. Which may seem slow for a 10 mile time trial, but was fast for this particular course.
Arthur Venables finished the gruelling course in a time of 27:00, with it being his second time racing on the mainland. Arthur took home the junior award for being the fastest junior.
This meant a successful outing for the Island time trial duo, with overall and junior win. Arthur and Matt’s next time trial is next weekend on the even more challenging Tour of Lod Valley TT.
