The Haines family were struck by tragedy at the beginning of the year when 18 year old Kieron Haines died in a skiing accident abroad.
Sadly for family and friends, the tragedy continues after Kieron’s grandfather, Derek, was taken seriously ill whilst on a much-deserved break in Turkey.
Derek is now in an induced coma in a Turkish hospital and according to family and friends, the authorities are not allowing him to be moved back to the UK, until all the medical bills are paid. This also applies to his partner who is there with him.
Help needs to pay medical bills
A fundraising page has been set up by friends, hoping the Isle of Wight community will rally around to help get Derek and his partner back home to the Island.
The message on the Go Fund Me page reads,
Another major incident has happened this week that has hit this poor dear family.
The Grandparents went on a much deserved break to Turkey, and whilst there the Grandfather of Kieron, Derek, has become seriously ill with breathing/lung/heart condition.
Derek is now in an induced coma in a Turkish hospital, they will not allow him home until medical bills are met, (sadly insurance won’t cover it!!)
He will require an Air Ambulance, and his medical bills are £1000+ a day! And so time is of the essence. Derek’s partner cannot be allowed home until costs are covered.
Please, donate whatever you can to help get assistance for this poor family, they have been through so much already. Thank you for listening.
If you can help, you can donate to the fund by visiting the Go Fund Me page.
