Every year, Island MP Andrew Turner invites children on the Island to take part in a Christmas Card Competition.
Once again the time has come to announce the winner from the hundreds of entries judged by three independent judges.
This delightful entry by Maddy Squires, aged five from Gurnard Primary School made it to the top of the judge’s list.
Young Maddy will be presented with her prize of a book token, Christmas cards for her own use and also cards for her school next Monday when Andrew visits the school.
Due to the high standard of entries, four runner up entries will be gracing the back of the card. Taking the honours are William Samuel, aged 9 and Emily Mitchell, aged 11 both of Forelands Middle School, Jemima Townsend, aged 9 of Nodehill Middle School and Millie Platt, aged 4 of Bembridge Primary School.
On Mr Turner “The judges have come up trumps and picked a lovely design for my card. They certainly have a very difficult task as there were hundreds of entries from schools all over the Island. There are clearly a lot of budding and talented artists in our schools. Every year I get compliments about my Christmas cards and I am sure this year will be the same. I hope Maddy and the runners-up will enjoy sending these cards featuring their artwork as much as I do.”
