If you listen to the national news, you will’ve heard that several back-bench MPs have put their names to an amendment expressing regret that an EU Referendum was not mentioned in the Queen’s Speech last week.
What is referred to as “an humble Address” is to be presented to Her Majesty as follows:
Most Gracious Sovereign,
We, Your Majesty’s most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled, beg leave to offer our humble thanks to Your Majesty for the Gracious Speech which Your Majesty has addressed to both Houses of Parliament.
Isle of Wight MP, Andrew Turner is one of 93 MPs who have called for the following amendment:
Line 5, at end add ‘but respectfully regret that an EU referendum bill was not included in the Gracious Speech.’
The amendment, along with one relating to climate change and another to NHS ‘privatisation’ will be debated tonight.
