Island Speedway are proud to announce that Sharp Electronics have agreed to become the latest big name company to be associated with Island Speedway.
Agreement has been reached with Andy from Speedway Portal to sponsor heat two in every match of the 2016 season and to provide the Island Speedway Media Channel which will be accessible through the Island Speedway Website or directly from Speedway Portal themselves.

Speaking about the deal Barry Bishop, who together with Martin Widman is the driving force behind the intended return of speedway to Ryde, said,
“I was approached by Andy from Speedway Portal to see if there was a way that we could work together to bring his innovative media technology to the speedway world. I immediately understood the potential of his portal for Island Speedway and our media channel was born.
“This channel will enable us to provide content about the club from behind the scenes including sponsor, rider and fan interviews and it will also allow fans to get involved with their video clips too.
“This type of technology is exactly the type of thing that Martin and I are looking for as we continue to expand our fan and sponsorship base internationally and Speedway Portal, along with our Website, will facilitate our reach beyond the Island.”
A multimedia hub of speedway related videos
For the technically minded, Speedway Portal is a multimedia hub of speedway related videos compiled by the fans, for the fans. Currently using the Kodi interface software, users can instantly stream videos over the internet using Ethernet, WI-FI, 3G or 4G.
In the future, Speedway Portal will be including sections for Grasstrack, Longtrack, Ice, Indoor, Sidecar and Cycle speedway and welcomes all riders, clubs, fans and potential fans from around the world to try it out, and join.
