We highlighted Brogan’s gold win at the Youth Island Games last week and now bring you news of successes of the entire team.
The Isle of Wight Youth team brought home seven medals in total and many personal bests were surpassed as the junior athletes did us all proud competing in Corsica.
We’ll be posting news of all the events over the next few days, but in summary we extend a huge well done to Jane Sceales, who during what sounds like a very exciting few days sailing managed to bring home Gold for the Island. Brogan Percy who brought home Gold for her 400m sprint – won by one thousands of a second – just goes to show that even the tiniest bit of extra effort can make the world of difference.
James Forman put in an amazing performance in the 400m hurdles, bringing home a Silver medal and a race time of 56.27 which now ranks him second in the UK for under 16s. Brilliant work James.
The 400m relay team comprising Brogan Percy, Faith Norster 15, Sarah Grace, 15, and Ella Bilton, 14 also put in a sterling performance coming in at 4.06 and securing them a Bronze medal.
Well done to all the young athletes who represented the Isle of Wight. We’ll be covering all of your successes in Corsica on the blog over the next few days. [image courtesy of IOW Council]
