Be sure to wish Islander Ian Gregory the very best of luck for his final fundraising challenge of the year, which he takes on this Saturday (1st October).
Although for the last decade Ian has raised money every year for Prostate Cancer, after tragically losing his son last year, Ian will be splitting any money raised between them and ‘Daddy’s Little Girl Fund’ – a fund set up for his son’s daughter, Esme.
157 miles around the M25 in one day
Saturday sees Ian that on his nemesis – The Sidley London Revolution Ultra – 157 miles around the M25 in one day.
Let’s not forget that Ian is doing this against the odds. More than 25 years ago he was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disorder that affects what he can and can’t do. He also has eight damaged discs in his spine, Arthritis and Tempro-mandibular dysfunction disorder. These all make completing the events far more challenging than they would for most people.
Gregory: Please donate whatever little you can in these tough times
Ian explains,
“I attempted something similar a few years back and failed.
“157 miles in the one day around Greater London. Wish me luck and please donate whatever little you can in these tough times.
“Thank you all so much and what a year so far!”
Best of luck Ian, we’ll be rooting for you.
