Isle of Arts 2012: Lili la Scala Sings Songs to Make You Smile

Even if you don’t fancy either of the comedy nights with PhiLl Jupitus or Sandi Toksvig, or live music from Steve Harley or Tipitina, or perhaps not even the theatre performances, workshops or dance on offer at this year’s Isle of Arts Festival, we’re sure you wouldn’t be able to resist the the performance of Lili La Scala. Gilly tells us more. Ed

With her vintage pin-up girl looks and the voice of a nightingale, this little diva with the big voice will certainly give you something to smile about with some of the funniest vintage songs she has found around the place.

From American composers Irving Berlin and Cole Porter to British legends Gracie Fields and Vera Lynn, and with a splash of George Formby thrown in for good measure, Lili La Scala offers traditional tunes delivered with cabaret sass that provide the perfect antidote to the current global depression.

Tickets are just £5 and the event takes place at The Boathouse, Spyglass Inn, Ventnor Esplanade.

Purchase your tickets online or via our telephone hotline 01983 862 596 (open Monday-Friday, 10.00-16.00) or via Seasons, 8-10 High Street, Ventnor.
