Looking for an activity to enjoy with the kids during the half-term holiday?
Isle of Wight artist, Laura Hathaway, will lead a drop-in family workshop at Quay Arts in Newport, where children and their families can get creative with abstract sculptures.
Workshop details
The event will take place from 10am to 1pm in the Seminar Room and is open to all.
Those taking part will transform artwork produced during the ‘Drip Splatter Smear’ workshops into imaginative abstract sculptures.
Creative exploration
They’ll be re-using painted marks, create new ones, and experiment with a range of techniques. These include cutting, gluing, and stitching, offering the opportunity to explore new shapes and compositions.
By layering and combining these painted elements, children can create their very own abstract sculptures to take home.
Supervision requirements
The workshop is suitable for all ages, but children must be supervised by an accompanying adult.
Where and when
The Abstract Sculptures – Family Drop in takes place on Monday 28th October 2024 between 10am and 1pm in the Seminar Room, Quay Arts Centre, Little London, Newport.
