Island authors, Carol and Bob Bridgestock are donating audiobooks to the Isle of Wight Society for the Blind.
Some of the books are their own, some they have been given by other people including their literary agent David Headley, owner of Goldsboro Books, Cecil Court, London and publisher Caffeine Nights Publishers, Kent.
The boxes of audiobooks will be donated to the in Newport Society this Friday (27th November).
A fantastic donation
CEO Estelle Thomas said
“Carol and Bob have been fantastic to the Society, they have already donated an audio copy of their book, Deadly Focus, which has been very popular with readers.
“They have also written and donated a short story for us to use any way we choose.
“These extra books are a fantastic donation. We cannot thank Carol and Bob enough for wanting to help us. They are also donating a signed copy of each of the books in the DI Dylan series to us, to use in our raffle which is being drawn on 11th December and other plans are in the pipeline.”

Bob and Carol said,
“Having a friend of the family who is visually impaired we are more aware than most how important the talking newspaper and audiobooks are. Saying that, audiobooks are often brought out after the initial launch of hardback, paperback and eBook copies of a new title.
“So, for a little treat we decided to gift a new, unpublished DI Dylan short-story to the blind and visually impaired people on the Island for the Christmas special edition audio newsletter.
“From CEO Estelle Thomas and volunteers, at Millbrook House we learnt about the challenges they have in the upkeep of the library, due to new technology and we set about trying to do something about the lack of new material.
“We are now thrilled to be able to substantially add to the audio library mostly due to the generosity of our literary agent David Headley, Cecil Court, London and publisher Caffeine Nights, Kent – something we felt would benefit blind and visually impaired people on the Island.
“We are also looking forward to working with Estelle and the volunteers in the future.”
